Apple has released a limited-edition of its flagship AirPods Pro in line with the Chinese Year of the Tiger. A tiger emoji is inscribed on the surface of the cover in the special edition version. The AirPods Pro package also features an emoji of a red tiger.

New year, new for ears
As you may all know, this year is the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese calendar. Custom-designed tiger emojis are printed on both the wireless charging case and the AirPods Pro packaging for the limited-edition AirPods Pro.
A bundle of 12 red envelopes containing emoji versions of the Chinese zodiac signs has been given away to consumers who buy an iPhone at an Apple retail store in China. During the Chinese New Year, it is customary to give red envelopes filled with cash to close relatives and friends.
A free “Share Your Love Today” at Apple event is being offered to clients in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, where they may design their own New Year’s greeting cards. Apple also has artwork and decals commemorating the Year of the Tiger on display in a few Chinese retail locations.
If you missed out on the recent Singapore news, Apple unveiled a special Chinese New Year variant Beats Studio Buds earlier this week. To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the Beats earphones and charging case are decorated in red and gold with a tiger pattern.
Amount of money spent on customizing everything? Nothing. Similar to the previous year, Apple’s limited-edition AirPods Pro is on sale at a lower price than the ordinary version of the product. Now you can get AirPods Pro in the Year of the Tiger edition for $257 USD or $1,999 HK.

Apple recently announced across several SG news sites that a number of limited-edition products, including the AirPods Pro. For the Chinese New Year, Apple also unveiled a special edition of its object finder, the AirTag.
Apple is well-known for releasing limited-edition products on occasion. With the release of iPods, iPads, iPhones, and their latest Apple Watches. For the most part, these limited-edition models are associated with the tech brand’s Beats label.
Apple’s pro earbuds could get even better in the near future. AirPods Pro’s second iteration is expected to include Lossless Audio support and a wireless charging case, as supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo predicted earlier this morning.
Additional wellness and fitness capabilities are expected to be added to these headphones, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
It is expected that this year will see the release of the second generation of AirPods Pro, but the exact date is still unknown. It’s best to keep your eyes peeled on the latest Singapore news going forward.
The Apple logo on the side of the box, as well as the words “AirPods Pro MagSafe Charging Case”, have been changed to a bright red hue on the packaging.
To put some context, words have never been printed or embossed in this color before and the MagSafe charging technology was only added a few months back. Also on the left surface of the packaging is a brightly colored tiger depicted in the style of the original.
Please be aware that these earbuds perform exactly the same as the originals as they don’t provide enhancements or upgrades. They don’t get any louder regardless of you playing any passages of The Jungle Book.
A unique AirTag with a tiger print on it was also introduced in Japan last week to commemorate the new year. There’s only one problem with that, and it’s that it doesn’t appear to be readily available.
