Best phones in Singapore

Are you perhaps looking for the latest piece of tech in the mobile space? Whether because you needed a replacement or simply wanted to have an upgrade, getting your hands on the best smartphones to date is never a bad idea.

Today, we will be looking at some of the best phones in the country and see exactly if they are indeed worth buying or they are downright a hard pass. The list we have here is in no particular order, enjoy straits times.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max

Perhaps one of the most premium designs yet for a smartphone, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the latest iPhone to date. It is packed with the most powerful Bionic chip in the Apple series complete with a longer-lasting battery and 5G capabilities.

Similar to the other iPhones that came before it (specifically the iPhone 12, 12 Mini, and 12 Pro), Pro Max introduces MagSafe technology for wireless charging. The Pro Max also has the largest speakers and the widest screen for an iPhone so far.

This latest model of the iPhone has a 120Hz display with a 12MP camera that can capture crisp and quality photos. For video recording, it can capture 60 frames per second at 2160P with a wider dynamic range and Dolby Vision capturing. Perfect for capturing moments when you travel in Singapore.

Perhaps the only downside for this purchase is that it comes with no charger nor EarPods within the box. But if you have the means to buy this elegant-looking smartphone, it is definitely worth buying.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G

The next on our list is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. This beast from Samsung has a main 108MP camera and 12MP ultra-wide. The physical size of the rear camera comes a bit smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The display has better adaptive refresh rate adjustment and it has an AMOLED screen display that’s a bit brighter than those that came before it.

The Galaxy Note isn’t complete without its S Pen and it is now tucked into the left side of the device. It also has a lower screen latency with system-wide Air actions. This feature is incredibly helpful at multitasking as it lets you draw notes in an instant.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is, of course, 5G capable, redesigned to feature a stainless-steel finish along with the latest Gorilla Glass 7 for more durability. Unlike the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the Note 20 Ultra comes with a 25-watt charger with USB PowerDelivery and a headphone.

Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate

The ROG phones are mostly known as the phone best suited for gaming. Asus’ latest ROG phone, as expected, is a complete powerhouse. While the ROG phones are relatively new to the mobile market, Asus certainly never ceased to impress.

The ROG Phone 5 Ultimate has a 144Hz AMOLED display and is powered by the latest Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888, Octa-core Chipset. The ROG Phone 5 is available at 128GB storage with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for 12GB RAM.

But the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate takes the cake with its 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is clearly amongst the few powerful phones in the market today.

You can’t even think of any flipside to this phone as this beast is extremely way too ahead of its competitors in terms of gaming performance. Perhaps if the RAM and the internal storage don’t appeal to you, you’re better off with a much cheaper alternative instead.

Huawei P40 Pro

Another great pick for people who love taking photos, Huawei P40 Pro is currently deemed as a photo pro device that features a stunning 50MP sensor with an RYYB filter that splits 12MP photos. The P40 Pro is also dust and water-resistant with an IP68 rating.

It is powered by the latest Kirin 990 5G chip, an octa-core processor with Mali-G76 MP16 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage space. Sounds like the perfect device for non-stop video recording, right? That’s because it is.

That fact is, it can capture 4K videos at 60 frames per second and 7680 frames per second in slow-mo, albeit at 720P. The battery is perhaps its weakest spot with only 4,200 mAh of capacity, a bit below your average smartphone, especially when compared to everything else on our list.
