Since 2018, Hailey (24) has been happily married to Justin even though their relationship has gone through various highs and lows for years. The model insisted that she will never walk away from her relationship with him.
Remembering her own mentality in the middle of her husband’s mental health problems, she revealed, “I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him. I just wouldn’t do that to him.”
“Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I’m not that type of person. So I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be.”
Mental Health Issues
Justin (27), had previously undergone psychiatric therapy to treat his mental health back in 2019 and he has been open publicly about his battle with depression. The international superstar admits that he needs some deep healing before he could finally commit to a serious relationship.
In his recent interview in Good Faith with Chelsea and Judah podcast, he chronicles his past struggles including his experiences dating fellow pop star Selena Gomez.
He said, “I had experienced so many things in my life. So many milestones and traveled the world and seen everywhere in the world. And I just got to a place where I was lonely, and I just didn’t want to do it all alone.”
“I realized there was some serious healing I needed to go through in order to get to a place where I could be in a healthy, serious relationship because I had a lot of trauma and scars. So I just committed to working on those things and getting healthy,” he added.
Back in June, one of Justin’s fans posted a Tik Tok video of him speaking to his fans who are waiting outside his flat in New York City to stop what they are doing because it’s too much.
“I hear you, I hear you. But this is my home. You know what I mean? This is where I live. And I don’t appreciate you guys being here. You know when you come home at the end of the night, and you want to relax? This is my space to do that. So I would appreciate it if you guys could leave,” Justin said on the Tik Tok clip.
In October 2020, he also commented about the same sentiment when his fans gathered outside of his house and loitered around the area.
“How do you convince yourself it’s not completely inappropriate and disrespectful to wait outside my home to gawk, stare and take pictures as I walk into my apartment. This is not a hotel. It’s my home,” he wrote.
Living Under the Spotlight
Justin, who is always living his life under the limelight, has his wife Hailey, who previously stated that she was afraid of kissing him in public because she felt people are always watching them.
“It was difficult for me to understand how to carry on a relationship like this, experienced under the eyes of all. But there comes a time when you have to embrace reality and admit who you are,” she said.
“For a long time I couldn’t do it, I didn’t kiss him in public, I didn’t like the idea of people watching us at certain moments… But I realized that it is a battle that in the long run, instead of protecting you, exhausts you. The fact is, we love each other. And there is really nothing to hide,” she added.
