Professionally known simply as Lisa, Lalisa Manobal revealed on her official Instagram that her much-awaited solo album will debut on September 10. The title of the solo album is “Lalisa”.

Lisa is known as a member of the globally famous South Korean quartet, Blackpink. Along with Lisa, the group also consists of Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park, and Kim Ji-soo, also known professionally as Jennie, Rose, and Ji-soo. The fans of Blackpink are also known as “Blinks”, it came from the contraction of the word, Blackpink.

The post has the following caption, “My first single album release 2021.09.10 1 pm (KST)” The post is supported by a photo of the Thai rapper clad in a red dress with long braided pigtails. The post was also shared on the social media accounts of Blackpink. 

Prior to the post, Lisa already teased on her Instagram account that the impending release of her album will come soon. She posted a teaser of a blurred photo with only two words written, “Coming Soon”.

Blackpink’s Third Solo Album

Lisa is going to be the third member of Blackpink to release a solo album following Jennie and Rose. 25-year old Jennie released her solo album, “Solo” in November 2018, on the other hand, 24-year old Rose released her album, “R” in March this year.

According to YG Entertainment, the group’s agency, the release of the solo project of the fourth member of Blackpink, 26-year old Ji-soo is set to release her solo album. However, it was put on delay due to her commitment to the television show, Snowdrop. 

Blackpink debuted in August 2016 with their extended play entitled, “Square One” and have released massive hits such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Kill This Love”, “How You Like That”, and “ Ice Cream.”

Due to their global fame, the quartet has also collaborated with non-Korean acts such as Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez.

Upon the revelation of Lisa’s upcoming solo project, it sent the Blinks into a Twitter furor. A lot of them couldn’t contain their excitement for the release of the rapper-singer’s album and took into social media accounts their own excitement.

Involvement in Fashion Industry

In the past few years, Lisa has been busy with her side projects such as being involved in the fashion world. Since 2019, Manobal has collaborated with Celine’s creative director Hedi Slimane. She eventually became the face of the brand in its global campaign in September 2020. She also became the latest brand ambassador of the clothing brand Bulgari in July 2020. 

Lisa became a part of the jury for the 2021 ANDAM awards in February this year. As a juror, she will assist to select the winner of the important fashion prize in France. The Thai singer also worked alongside Chinese musician Chris Lee, and fashion icons Kerby Jean-Raymond and Phoebe Philo as the guest judges in the competition. 

“I was very surprised when I first got the invitation as a juror. Since I’m very new in the fashion world, I thought this could be quite an adventurous and challenging experience for me at first, but at the same time, I thought it would be an exciting experience and I would learn a lot from this opportunity,” Manobal revealed in an interview. 

Thai Origins

Born as Pranpriya Manoban, Lisa has come a long way from her status prior to her global fame. As a maknae, she is the youngest member of the group and also the one without Korean blood. 

However, with her multiple skills in singing, dancing, rapping, and modeling, it is no wonder why she is the most popular “bias” among the quartet. 

Lisa’s solo album, “Lalisa” will debut on September 10, 2021.
