News Singapore has a diverse powerhouse of talents ranging from acting, music, modeling, and TV hosting. The Singaporean media conglomerate Mediacorp has produced many talents for years and most of them have established their respective names in their fields. Some of them have also collaborated with international actors and even starred in Hollywood films.

These celebrities have gained supporters from their respective works in film and television. However, some of them just stand out because of their net worth, after all, fame isn’t synonymous with wealth.

Rebecca Lim

Rebecca Lim has been a full-time actress since 2008 in Mediacorp. The 34-year old actress has won the Best Actress Award in Asian Television Awards. She also won the Best Performance for a Leading Role in Seoul International Drama Awards. With her ingenue beauty, she was also featured in covers in various fashion magazines.

Adrian Pang

Adrian was born in Malaysia, and he graduated with a law degree from the University of Britain. In the 1990s, he starred in various English-language television dramas and has been a staple talent of Mediacorp. 

Upon returning home, he was recognized as one of the sought-after talents by Singaporeans albeit referring to himself as a ‘kendang a Malay term meaning westernized. He recently starred in Hollywood cyber-thriller Blackhat in 2015, opposite Chris Hemsworth.

Fann Wong

Fann Wong is a famous Singaporean actress, singer, and fashion model. In 1995, she was the first actress to win both the Best Actress and Best Newcomer awards in Star Awards. She also became the first Singaporean actress to break into the Hollywood scene with her film, Shanghai Knights.

She was referred to as ‘Ah Jie’ of Mediacorp which translates as a senior actress because of her contribution to Singaporean cinema. In 2014, she collaborated with illustrator Patrick Yee for a children’s picture book.

Jack Neo

Jack Neo is a famous Singaporean actor and comedian who started his career in the 1980s. He is famous for his role as cross-dressing Liang Po Po. He left Mediacorp in 2003 to pursue directing films. 

Xiang Yun

Chen Cuichang, also known as Xiang Yun has been in the industry for 29 years. She starred in the drama, All That Glitters Is Not Gold in 1983. She has received an All-Time favorite Artiste award in 2011.

She was referred to by Mediacorp as one of the ‘Ah Jie’ or senior actresses because of her veteran role as one of the first locally trained actresses. She wedded fellow actor Edmund Chen and is still active in film and television.

Julie Tan

Julie Tan is the youngest celebrity on this list and was born in Malaysia. She studied drama at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and debuted in the acclaimed television movie The Promise.

She became the lead in the comedy film That Girl In Pinafore, she also hosted the program A Date with K-Pop Stars where she spent time with idols in South Korea. She currently has a net worth of $ 36.5 million.

Pierre Png

Born as Pierre Theodore Png Tiang Huat, he is of Peranakan descent and is a prominent comedian. He starred in the blockbuster The Journey: A Voyage and is also top 3 in Top Most Popular Male Artiste.

His recent known role is in Warner Bros’ successful Hollywood hit Crazy Rich Asians as Michael Teo, the cheating husband of Gemma Chan’s character Astrid. The movie also marks his first Hollywood outing.

Ng Chin Han

Chin Han is a Singaporean actor that initially acted in stage plays. He received critical acclaim in the TV drama Masters of The Sea and has a career that spanned over 20 years.

He starred in numerous Hollywood projects include The Dark Knight, Contagion, and 2012. He also has a recurring role in the TV series Arrow and recently starred in Dwayne Johnson’s disaster film Skyscraper as Zhao Long Zi. Zoey Tay

Zoey Tay is a former model and is known as the Queen of Caldecott Hill. She is also one of the ‘Ah Jie’ of Mediacorp, as a veteran actress. As of 2020, her net worth is the US $52 million.

Jeanette Aw

Jeanette is also known as Ou Xuan is a television actress who has a career of 14 years in Mediacorp. She has an established television acting portfolio and became the most prominent celebrity in Singapore.

She is also an acclaimed author of two books Definitions and Somebody to Love. As of 2020, she has an accumulated net worth of US $55 million and is hailed as the richest celebrity in Singapore.
