Who is Ubisoft?

If you’re not familiar with Ubisoft, they are one of the biggest names in the video game industry. They are the developers behind popular video game franchises such as the aforementioned Tom Clancy series, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Rayman, Starlink, Rabbids, Just Dance, and Assassins Creed, just to name a few.

From what you can already probably tell, their games involve a variety of game genres for all ages. Their Tom Clancy series is definitely amongst their many successful titles and they continue to rake in millions of sales for every game release.

This French video game company was known to have made several successful collaborations with other video game companies such as Square Enix, Nintendo, CAPCOM, and more. This only proves how flexible their intellectual properties are to work perfectly with other gaming giants in the industry.

What can you expect from Tom Clancy’s XDefiant?

As promised by Ubisoft, they claim to bring so many unique gameplay features to this brand-new shooter game that players can jump into completely free. The game features an interesting spin on the traditional PVP first-person shooter genre of games with elements such as characters with special abilities and certain roles that are vital to achieving a team victory.

Each character will fall into several special factions that are all based on the different factions from the Tom Clancy series. So far, the only factions revealed were Outcasts, Echelon, Cleaners, and Wolves. Ubisoft also confirmed that they have plans to add more factions into the game in the upcoming updates over the course of its evolution.

It was detailed in the trailer announcement for the game that each of the factions has a unique set of abilities that can immensely affect the game in many ways. Each plays differently and they seem to have a unique style of skills and combat styles that can either be advantageous or detrimental depending on the faction you are going up against.

Furthermore, it was confirmed that you can, in fact, mix and match factions with pretty much any guns, sets of equipment, and other attachments for more interesting matchups. This helps the whole experience a lot more curated, similar to how sgpool sites would usually offer a premium selection of top-notch games, giving the player the power to become creative and strategic depending on their preferred playstyle.

What this means for Ubisoft

The company is obviously leaning towards the market of free-to-play games while they still could. There are plenty of premium game developers who have never entered such a market before that earned an overwhelming success. Some companies have even gone making their games into the free-to-play business model in order to prolong the user base and life of their games.

The game will be available for PC, both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & Series X, and Xbox One. If you are very much interested in trying this game for yourself, a closed beta will happen on August 5 and all you have to do is pre-register online.
